The Anthem est la chanson qui pose le décor de cette histoire. Nous sommes le dernier jour des examens de fin d’année, et la sonnerie de l’école vient de mettre fin à une vie étudiante pleine d’oisiveté et de beuverie. Ils vont enfin pouvoir profiter de ce sentiment de liberté. Mais très rapidement, une sensation étrange fait son apparition. Notre personnage a l’impression de ne pas être sur la bonne voie, et qu’il n’arrivera pas à trouver sa place dans le monde. Il sait qu’il va devoir changer et laisser derrière lui sa vie d’étudiant, mais il n’arrive pas à croire en cette vie active qui l’attend.
